Highcliffe Castle Wedding Photographer
Dating back to the 1830’s, Highcliffe Castle is a magnificent building with stunning gardens set on the cliff tops of Christchurch Bay.
The last wedding of the day at Highcliffe Castle has access to the grounds and other sections of the building for the remainder of their wedding celebrations. Prior to this, there are up to two other weddings in a single day. Although there is a slight risk of wedding parties crossing over the staff at Highcliffe Castle do their best to reduce that happening.
Other than a few members of the public looking on, the grounds are fantastic for photographs. Additionally, it’s worth allowing a bit of time if possible, to pop down and enjoy the beach.
There is a choice of two rooms for wedding ceremonies at Highcliffe Castle; The Wintergarden and the Drawing Room. In my mind, The Wintergarden is the better of the two, with tall windows surrounding three of the walls, allows natural light to ooze through for fantastic reportage photographs during the wedding. The acoustics in The Wintergarden room are quite special and help enhance the atmosphere as it builds up to the wedding ceremony.
For your wedding breakfast there is a choice of two rooms. The State Dining Room has tall ceilings, bare brick walls and long windows lighting the room from one side, which helps creates depth for natural light documentary wedding photography. Alternatively, The Grand Hall offers a magnificent stained glass window within a large room that leads out to the main arch and and large wooden door seen from the main driveway leading into the grounds.
For evening celebrations there is separate room for dancing and a drawing room with a bar area for those that want to relax a little.
All in all this is an amazing wedding venue for so many reasons and especially wedding photography.
