Rivervale Barn, Yateley
Rivervale Barn, Yateley in North East Hampshire is a stunning wedding venue licensed for civil ceremonies. Set in what seems to be the middle of the countryside, the motorway is only a short distance away.
The venue has a large car park with helicopter access at the front and looks onto some wonderful meadows. To the rear of Rivervale Barn is a beautifully kept pond which is fed from a nearby stream. The gardens surrounding the pond are also extremely well maintained and make for ideal photograph opportunities while guests mingle with a pre-meal drink. Although indoors has ample room on a wet day, exploring the grounds in the sunshine is will definitely keep guests entertained.
Adjacent to the barn there is a courtyard with chairs and tables centred around a fountain water feature; which enhances how relaxed everyone should be at Rivervale Barn. The fountain is lit as twilight arrives and the water sparkles across the courtyard. Due to the courtyard walls protecting guests from the elements, only rain will stop this area being used to take a break from the evening’s entertainment.
Inside, Rivervale Barn is built around three rooms. The ceremony room, the wedding breakfast room and the dancing room. I’m sure they have names for each room but my memory doesn’t serve me well.
By having the three rooms there isn’t any part of the day where guests need to be whisked away to remove tables and turnaround rooms.
The ceremony room has ample room and is licensed for 150-guests. With the timber frames on show, huge windows and a balcony you could almost mistake it for being a chapel when inside.
The wedding breakfast room is large and spacious with an ideal spot for the top table. Again, the timber frame throughout the room adds to the character of this wonderful building.
The room used for dancing in the evening is ideal. With the bar close to hand you won’t lose guests to other rooms and risk lessening the party atmosphere.
Lastly, not only is the food at Rivervale Barn amazing but it’s backed up with staff that know what they are doing and are keen to help. As a photographer seeing both sides of the ‘house’ in operation you gain a good idea how well guests are looked after; and the staff at Rivervale are top of their game.
Although there is only overnight accommodation for the Bride & Groom, there are numerous local hotels.
All in all, Rivervale Barn is definitely worth a look at if you’re looking for a wedding venue in North Hampshire.
